Ph.D. position in video surveillance and privacy Multimedia Image processing Group (MIG) for Security, Safety and Forensics of EURECOM Sophia Antipolis, South of France, offers a Ph.D. position from March 1st, 2014. EURECOM is a teaching and research institute, with an international Master program in telecommunications, and a reputation of excellence in research. It is located in Sophia Antipolis, an active technopole on the French Riviera, gathering a large number of research units of leading multi-national corporations in the information technologies and biotechnology sectors, as well as other leading research and teaching institutions. Enjeux

Topic: Privacy issues in multimedia systems and services are gaining increased importance in society at large. New tools and technologies are needed to protect privacy of individuals, while at the same time allowing them to take full advantage of existing and upcoming multimedia applications in a transparent way. The retained Ph.D. candidate will have to design and implement solutions for protection of privacy in video surveillance. This work will include some studies on new video sensors (e.g. ultra high definition cameras and mini drones). The exact final research topic of the new researcher will also be chosen so as to match his/her experience aiming at maximum productivity.
